It is also likely that while you are super PASSIONATE and eager, you've stumbled a bit and even been thrown off your path a few times.
For most Entrepreneurs the chatter that goes on in their head can present the biggest road BLOCKS. You know what I'm talking about...the worries, doubts, and fears. The story a fellow Entrepreneur likely told you recently about their years of struggling in their business.
I have had my fair share of inner mind chatter. I've heard all of the stories, and I've studied every all of the strategies that work and don't work.
That's why I am excited to share the 4 Entrepreneur Myths and How to Avoid Them with you today. I want to do all I can to help you navigate your SUCCESS path and eliminate all of the unnecessary distractions, detours and non-productive actions. I want to help you ACCELERATE your success!
Let’s face it. If CONFIDENCE was necessary for success, very few (if any) people would be successful!
Being an Entrepreneur is scary. It’s scary to go into business for yourself. It’s terrifying to take on the responsibility for structuring your business, selling to your client and then delivering the service or program. There are so many things to do when it comes to business and the truth is, most of it isn’t covered in our certification programs or training's. It’s overwhelming to wear all of the business hats you do.
But, it’s also WONDERFUL. It’s an amazing gift to be in business for yourself. To structure your business in a way that allows you to live full out and provide the very best to your clients and customers.
The truth is very few if any Entrepreneurs are confident in every area of their business. Some may be confident in sales, but lacking confidence in the administrative aspects of their business. Others may be confident in administration, but scared when it comes to sales. They might even feel nervous about delivering the service and working with their clients.
Whatever the area is for you, I want you to know it’s okay. You don’t actually need confidence in yourself to be successful.
So, do you need confidence at all? The answer is YES.
You need to be confident in your program, product, or service. You need to know that it does what you say it does. This is what you need to have confidence in.
You also need to have “Self-Efficacy,” which is the belief in your ABILITY to do something. You don’t actually need to BELIEVE you can do it, just that you have the capacity to be able to do it.
Belief in your ability combined with confidence in your program, product or service is enough.
Confidence is actually the OUTCOME or byproduct of the action. Confidence comes after experience.
So, let yourself off the hook for having to feel confident. Grab hold of your belief in your ability and your confidence in what you deliver in your business and get going. With these two ingredient, the FEELING of confidence will soon happen.
Nope, you don’t. You don’t need a quantity of client experiences. You do need QUALITY client experiences. You need consistent outcomes, which can be achieved with a small number of clients to start.
If you haven’t worked with any clients, then now is the time to get started. Be WILLING to work with people for a reduced rate in exchange for their feedback and testimonial (if you earn it) when you are just getting started and if you don’t yet understand the performance of your product or service and have CONSISTENT client experiences.
Be willing to do the work, but don’t get hung up in numbers. If you work with 5 people, who all achieve the same level of success or same type of results, you have a pattern. Be willing to measure your outcomes and always focus on ways in, which you can do BETTER, however never let experience get you stuck at the start.
Once you clearly understand what your program, product, or service delivers get going - BELIEVE in your services and your ability to deliver. Bring in more clients. Make the sales! You’re ready.
It’s true that you need to invest in your business. It does NOT need to be a large number. Even something as small as $100 a week can be EFFECTIVE. In today’s social media space, you must “pay to play” as they say.
Any Entrepreneur who is unwilling to invest in putting themselves in front of a prospective client, has a hobby rather than a business, however it doesn’t need to be a HUGE sum of money.
If you don’t know how to reach, connect, or speak to your prospective client, it doesn’t matter how much you spend. You will see limited return.
Advertising and Marketing are helpful because it’s not your client’s job to find you. It is your job to put yourself in front of them. To be where they are and make yourself easy to find. It’s your job to help them to see and UNDERSTAND how you can add value to their lives and have solutions to the situations they are experiencing.
In Myth #4, we are going to talk about some resourceful ways to be more effective in connecting with your clients.
I remember believing this myth. I had completed my training's and received my certifications. I was good at what I did. I knew it worked and would help people so…why weren’t they beating down my door to work with me. I found that no one wants to buy what you have to sell. No one wants or even needs a program or service.
The old saying, “No one wants a drill. They want the 1/4 inch hole the drill creates,” is very true for Entrepreneurs.
The truth is people just want their lives to IMPROVE. They want the pain to stop. They want their RESULTS now. They want things FASTER, EASIER, BIGGER and BETTER than they’ve got so far.
People don’t want to buy our service, they want the solution our service provides for them. Sometimes, they may not even know the solution is possible.
It is important that we understand our Niche, our Avatar, and our Ideal Clients (no they aren’t all the same thing). We need to understand their situations, their pain, their priorities, their perceptions, their capabilities, their worries, their fears, their objections, and their greatest desires.
It is our job as Entrepreneurs to see life through their eyes. To listen to their needs. To understand them. It is our job and our OPPORTUNITY to really be of service and provide value.
